Sometimes the weather forecast is accurate; it was today. I woke up at 3 AM to a sudden silence. My air purifier and humidifier were silent, and darkness was complete, inside and out. The hallway emergency light came on in my building. I had the bright idea of powering up my cell phone using a hallway outlet; alas, they didn’t work. The only option was to go back to bed, so that’s what I did. Power came back on around 7:30 but I was too lazy to get up. An hour later, power went off again. Then, 20 minutes later, it came back on and has stayed on since then (thank you Lord!)
The icy winter wonderland was beautiful to behold, but boy, was I glad not to have to go out in it! Two phone calls to advise that power was off at church meant I didn’t even have to try. Here a few photos taken from my balcony this morning…
This weather today gave me some pause as I have relatives flying in and out of it. They laid over in Minneapolis and described it as a “wall of snow”.

It must be really scary flying in it. Good de-icing equipment is crucial. Wishing you rellies a safe journey and an enjoyable holiday once they land!
